WHAT IS ARTISTLAUNCH ?

HISTORY: ArtistLaunch was established in 1999 and became an Online Music Distributor akin to mp3.com and the like. It had a CD duplication service & CD catolgue (similar to cd baby), podcasting facilities, personalized radio stations, digital distribution and regularly put on showcases of artistlaunch artists. In 2007 the company changed hands but the new ownership were unsuccessful in continuing to compete with there OMD competitors and ultimately gutted the site and it's membership. In Oct 2008 the AL domain was returned to it's owner and radical changes were made... out with everything AL once was and in with an open book...

Artistlaunch is now an entertainment channel geared towards the alternative & underground music and art scene...

AL sources new media/artists/ from numerous places and also relies on the submission process on this website. Media companies/Record Labels/Publishers/Artists & individual readers are encouraged to register, (either via our system or by logging in via facebook) and upload media/links and articles with the tools available.
